Declining Quality of research in India – a pressing issue: Prof. Siddegowda

“Quality of research in India is on the decline. This is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed with top priority by institutions of higher learning and research across the country.” said Prof. Y S Siddegowda, Vice Chancellor of Tumkur University. He inaugurated the three-day National Workshop on Scholarly Writing Strategies and Techniques organized by Department of Library and Information Science of the University in collaboration with its alumni association from 7 to 9 February 2020. Research, which does not intend to do good to society, is no research. Irrespective of whether one undertakes research in natural sciences or social sciences, the ultimate aim must be welfare of the society. Consequent to the decline of quality of research, the quality of scholarly publications has also reached a low. The proliferation of “predatory journals” has worsened the quality of scholarly writing. Social welfare must be the motto of research, he reiterated. More than 75 research scholars from various universities and R & D institutions have participated in the workshop.

“ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನವಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನವಾಗಲಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಳಕಳಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯು ನಿಜವಾದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಮಾಜದ ಒಳಿತಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದು.” ಎಂದು ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಿದ್ದೇಗೌಡ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಮೂಲತತ್ತ್ವಗಳು, ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ವಿಧಿವಿಧಾನಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಲೇಖನ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಹಿರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ “ವಿದ್ವತ್ಪೂರ್ಣ ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯ ತಂತ್ರಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಧಾನಗಳು” ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಲೇಖನಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರಣಗಳೂ ಇವೆ. ಕೇವಲ ಸಂಖ್ಯಾಬಲವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ಕೊಡದೆ ಬರೆದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ ನೂರಾರು ಲೇಖನಗಳಿಗಿಂದ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಳಕಳಿಯನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು, ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಕೇವಲ ಐದು ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರೂ ಸಾಕಾದೀತು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಮಾತು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ದೇಶದ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯಗಳು, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಂದ 75ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

National Workshop on Scholarly Writing
Department of Studies and Research in Library and Information Science, Tumkur University is all geared up for the 3-day National Workshop on Scholarly Writing: Strategies and Techniques, organized in association with Alumni Association of Library and Information Science, Tumkur University (AALISTU).
The Workshop will be inaugurated by Prof. Y S Siddegowda, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Tumkur University, on 7th February 2020 at 10.30 am at the Department, located at Dr. V S Acharya Memorial Block on the University campus.
The 3-day Workshop is intended to give hands-on experience to authors and researchers interested in pursuing research and publishing articles.

Predatory journals: defined, at last!
It’s official! After 12 hours of discussion, 18 questions and 3 rounds, leading scholars and publishers from ten countries have agreed a definition of predatory publishing. Here it goes:
“Predatory journals and publishers are entities that prioritize self-interest at the expense of scholarship and are characterized by false or misleading information, deviation from best editorial and publication practices, a lack of transparency, and/or the use of aggressive and indiscriminate solicitation practices.” (Grudniewicz et al., 2019)

National Workshop on Scholarly Writing at Tumkur University
Department of Studies and Research in Library and Information Science, Tumkur University will be organizing a National Workshop on Scholarly Writing: Strategies and Techniques from 7 to 9 February 2020.
The Workshop aims to impart knowledge and skills in scientific application of research methodology in scholarly writing. The workshop will be a hands-on experience. The number of seats is limited to 50.

National Conference on Innovative Practices in Libraries: A Report
“Technology is a boon, not a bane for libraries”
Director of Public Libraries Department Dr. Satishkumar S. Hosamani inaugurated the National Conference on Innovative Practices in Libraries organized by Tumkur University Library
“Libraries are at the threshold of change. With the influence of technology, traditional libraries are transforming into digital libraries. Libraries and library professionals remain relevant only if they embrace technology and adopt it in their services.” said Dr. Satishkumar Hosamani, Director, Department of Public Libraries. He inaugurated the National Conference on Innovative Practices in Libraries organized by Tumkur University Library with sponsorship from Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
Professor of Library and Information Science from Kuvempu University Dr. B S Biradar delivered the Keynote address and said “Due to the impact of technology, libraries are no more just storehouses of books. There are ample opportunities for librarians to adopt innovative practices and deliver services. Librarians should inculcate technological skills and initiate innovative services in libraries. Library professionals should have a positive mindset towards technology.”
Vice Chancellor Prof. A H Rajasab remarked “This is the era of accessing information on mobile devices. Librarians should not be stationary. They should be mobile. They should take libraries to readers. A true librarian is one who reads the pulse of readers and provides information accordingly.”
Registrar Evaluation Prof. D V Paramashivamurthy and President of Karnataka State College Librarians Association Mr. M N N Prasad released the Conference Proceedings.
More than 200 library professionals from across the country participated in the conference. More than 30 papers were presented. Conference Director Dr. B Ravivenkat and Organizing Secretary Kumara B expressed gratitude.
“ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಕವಲ್ಲ ಪೂರಕ”
ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ “ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೀನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳು” ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ. ಸತೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಹೊಸಮನಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು
“ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಇಂದು ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯ ಹೊಸ್ತಿಲಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಇಂದು ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿವೆ. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು, ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ಇಂದಿನ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತರಾಗಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ.” ಎಂದು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ. ಸತೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಹೊಸಮನಿ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ರಾಜಾರಾಂ ಮೋಹನ್ ರಾಯ್ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಜಕತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ “ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೀನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳು” ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ದಿಕ್ಸೂಚಿ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕುವೆಂಪು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಡಾ. ಬಿ.ಎಸ್. ಬಿರಾದಾರ್, “ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಇಂದು ಕೇವಲ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಗಾರವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅನೇಕ ನಾವೀನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ವಿಪುಲ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳಿವೆ. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಾವೀನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕು. ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವುದು ಧನಾತ್ಮಕ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ.” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ. ರಾಜಾಸಾಬ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ “ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ಸ್ಥಾವರರಾಗದೆ, ಜಂಗಮರಾಗಬೇಕು. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುಗರೆಡೆಗೆ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಬೇಕು. ಓದುಗರ ನಾಡಿ ಮಿಡಿತವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವವನೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕ. ” ಎಂದರು.
ವಿವಿಯ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ಕುಲಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರೊ. ಡಿ. ವಿ ಪರಮಶಿವಮೂರ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕರ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂ.ಎನ್.ಎನ್. ಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ನಡಾವಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿವಿಧ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ 200ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರರು ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. 30ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಪ್ರಬಂಧಗಳು ಮಂಡನೆಯಾದವು. ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ವಿವಿ ಉಪಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕ ಡಾ. ಬಿ. ರವಿವೆಂಕಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕ ಕುಮಾರ.ಬಿ. ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
Workshop on Reference Management Tools and e-resources
“Electronic information resources are inevitable for higher learning and research. The availability of e-resources has enhanced the pace and quality of research. Just as the health of an individual depends on the health of the heart, the quality of an educational institution depends on the quality of collection and services offered by its library” said Prof. M Venkateswarlu, Registrar of Tumkur University.
He inaugurated the Workshop on Reference Management Tools and E-Resources for Faculty & Research Scholars organized by Tumkur University Library. “The initiatives such as this workshop organized by the University library will go a long way in enhancing the quality of learning and research in the University.” he said.
Prof. Ravishankar, Professor, Educational Consultant, Informatics India Ltd. demonstrated the use of e-resource gateway J-Gate and explained the search strategies which can be used to make J-Gate search more effective and relevant. Teachers, research scholars and students of Tumkur University participated in the Workshop. Workshop convener and Deputy Librarian of Tumkur University Library Dr. Ravivenkat proposed thanks.

“ಇಂದಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹೃದಯವಿದ್ದಂತೆ. ಹೇಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವು ಹೃದಯದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿತವಾಗಿದೆಯೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಒಂದು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿತವಾಗಿದೆ.” ಎಂದು ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಸಚಿವ ಪ್ರೊ. ಎಂ. ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರಲು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಸಾಧನಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳು ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಅವರು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿದರು. ಬೋಧಕರ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಗಳ ಪಾತ್ರ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಮಹತ್ತ್ವದ್ದು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವು ಅತ್ಯುಪಯುಕ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಗೋವಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕ ಡಾ. ವಿ. ಗೋಪಕುಮಾರ್ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ಸಾಧನಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಮೆಂಡೆಲೆ’ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಕ್ರೊಸಾಫ್ಟ್ ವರ್ಡ್ ತಂತ್ರಾಂಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಸ್ತೃತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ಇನ್ಫಾರ್ಮ್ಯಾಟಿಕ್ಸ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಮಾಲೋಚಕ ಪ್ರೊ. ರವಿಶಂಕರ್ ವಿದ್ಯುನ್ಮಾನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಜೆ-ಗೇಟ್ ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಗಾರವನ್ನು ಶೋಧಿಸುವ ತಂತ್ರಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆಯುವ ವಿಧಾನಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರಾತ್ಯಕ್ಷಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದರು.
ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿಯ ಬೋಧಕರು, ಸಂಶೋಧನಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ತುಮಕೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಉಪಗ್ರಂಥಪಾಲಕ ಡಾ. ಬಿ. ರವಿವೆಂಕಟ್ ಧನ್ಯವಾದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.

An article “What font should I choose for my thesis?” written by Dr. Janene Carey has been published today on The Thesis Whisperer blog. This is a sensible article, I feel, for the simple reason that this question haunts many (almost all) researchers. 🙂
Carey has succinctly penned down her arguments on choosing the typeface for thesis. Readability and legibility should be the key considerations. The font Constantia for text and Calibri for headings is what seems recommended. A nice article.

Installation of WordPress: Infographic
Today, I made my first infographic on How to Install WordPress. I used Piktochart. Piktochart is free and provides a handful of templates to create infographics. Infographics can be saved in low and medium resolution PNG or JPG. However, high resolution images, PDF saving need “LEVELING UP”, which means these are premium features.
